Curse Costco

Well, they did it. Initiative 1183 appears to have passed. What a tragedy. I guess Costco's $22 million paid off for them. Here is what Robert Mak of King five news had to say:

Did Costco overspend?

In political campaigns, the goal is to get 50% plus one. If you’re getting 60%, chances are you spent too much. But then again, Costco apparentlly really wanted to win this one, after losing its first initiative attempt last year. So instead of spending $6 million as it did in 2010, it spent a record $22 million and got a decisive win. Kirkland Signature liquor by June…
I find it very sad, yet not surprising, that Costco was able to buy our democracy/society and endanger many people's lives by spending nearly $30 million over the past two years in political contributions to pass initiatives so they can sell liquor and make more money.

Apparently you can buy anything with enough money.

It's pretty pathetic. What irks me even more is the stupid idiots who allowed Costco to buy their votes. Why are people so stupid? Even people who should know better are blinded by the craftiness of Costco. Case in point, go read my rebuttal to anonymous blog post. Stupid people bug me.

We have been boycotting Costco for over a year now and will continue to do so, forever. Sometimes you just have to take a stand. As Aaron Tippin says, "you've got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything; you've got to be your own man, not a puppet on a string".

There seem to be a lot of puppets on strings.

That's my two cents.
