Supergirl

For some reason these pictures weren't in a file.  They were just hanging out with all of the other folders.  So every time I open my pictures file I see them at the end of the list of folders.

So I decided to post them on my blog for a couple of reasons.
1 -- I look great- as usual!  :-)
2 -- the shirt epitomizes who I am.  :-)

the digital date stamp on the pictures say they were taken April 28, 2002

Of course one of my favorite pastimes was to take self-portraits.  And with the digital camera it became much easier.  So I have about 1 million photographs with this background in my Downey, CA apartment in a multitude of different outfits.  I will spare you most of them.  :-)

As you can see I liked plants and my leather animals! I thought it was a great backdrop :-).

it's no wonder I had Michael and Jason sing the outgoing message on my answering machine to the tune of "Superman" :-)

Hilarious Pictures :-)

When I was looking through my pictures yesterday and decided to post my baptism photos, these pictures made me laugh my neck off. so I have decided to post them for you as well.

you probably won't find them nearly as hilarious as I do.

These are pictures of me with my mom's first cousin, Lenice, who is about a year older than me.

I look thrilled, don't I?

I know I never liked playing with Lenice -- and obviously didn't like getting my picture taken with her either.  :-) this isn't the only picture that shows my disdain.

yet another picture that shows how thrilled I am.

Lenice seems oblivious.

This picture is really over exposed -- I should have tried to Photoshop it but, oh well.

Whoever was taking the pictures probably gave up after three times trying to get me to smile.  I would have none of it. I went out and got ticked! :-)

anyway I thought these pictures were hilariously amusing.  :-)

One thing I remember about Lenice is that we got her hand-me-downs when we were little.  My sisters and I would always look forward to going through the clothes that we got from Lenice because they were always fancy, namebrand clothing that we never could afford.  Hand-me-downs are always fun :-)

Taking pictures with Lenice, on the other hand, not so much.  :-)

My Baptism Day!

I was looking at some of my old childhood pictures that have been scanned into my computer.  And I came across my baptism pictures.  Since I just attended my nephew Elijah's baptism a few days ago I thought I would post my baptism pictures on my blog.

It's hard to believe this was over 35 years ago.  I was baptized when I was eight years old by my maternal grandfather, in Springville Utah.

I remember a few details from that day.  I remember being nervous about holding onto Grandpa's arm properly and plugging my nose.

I remember sitting in the chapel with all the other kids getting baptized that day and listening to the program, nervously waiting until it was my turn to get baptized.

I was excited to get baptized but being shy, I was nervous about the whole process.

I felt really good afterwards -- partly because it was over and I could relax :-).  But also because the spirit was so strong.  I knew I had made the right choice.

My confirmation wasn't until the next day.  So I was nervous again to go up in front of the congregation to be confirmed.  It's funny what I remember about that is how heavy everyone's hands were on my head.

Hey, I was a petite little thing, all those hands on my head were heavy!

Unfortunately I don't remember listening to the blessing because I was distracted by the heavy hands.  :-)

Anyway those are my memories of my baptism :-)

I will say it was the best decision I ever made up to that point in my life.  And actually, I would go so far as to say that joining the church was the best decision of my life ever.

My life has been blessed beyond measure by having the Gospel as part of it.

wasn't I cute?  :-)

Look how happy I am despite my nervousness.

Side note: I loved that coat.  I thought it was so cool because of the faux fur trim.  :-)

self explanatory :-)

gotta love the 70s fashions.  :-)

it looks like red white and blue was a big theme back then.  Dad is dressed up fine!

check out my hair that had broken off from getting a perm :-) I remember that well.

I hope you enjoyed reminiscing with me about my baptism day.

It was a very significant day in my life and having the Gospel as part of my life has shaped me into the person I am today. For that I am eternally grateful!

CCPM Graduation

I've decided to post pictures from my medical school graduation.

I graduated from California College of Podiatric Medicine on May 25, 2001 in San Francisco.

Michael and Derrinda were living with me at the time so they drove up with me from Los Angeles to San Francisco.  Lisa and her kids and Mom and Dad flew in from Salt Lake City.

The night before there was a graduation ball in which we all attended except for Lisa who didn't have a babysitter for kids :-(.

The day of graduation, Uncle Ron, Aunt Alice and my cousins Clint, Wade, Crystal, and Tracy attended my graduation ceremony.

here are a few pictures: the pictures are not in order :-(

I remember Michael's head got burned really badly.

There you go Lisa, and Chanelle -- you guys made the cut!  Several times.  :-)

It was a short but fun trip and the culmination of a lot of hard work on my part :-)

Thanks to all who were there to support me on my big day! I received the degree of Doctor of Podiatric Medicine.

Now don't forget to call me Doctor Stone :-)
