For all of you ignorant people out there who think socialism is the way to go -- how do you like what's happening in our country right now? This is socialism.
Do you like going to the store to find empty shelves? Do you like having to stand in line for hours to buy a package of toilet paper? Do you like being limited in the amount of bread or water or toilet paper you can purchase?
This is socialism.
Do ye like the government telling you that you have to stay home? Do ye like the government forcing businesses including restaurants to close? Do you like the government telling you that you cannot go to church? Do you like the government closing schools down? Do you like the government telling you that you cannot go to work?
This is socialism.
Kids on spring break are being arrested for going to the beach. Weddings are being crashed by cops and people are being arrested for gathering. A pastor in Texas was arrested for holding church services.
This is socialism.
Do you know why the mortality rate of COVID-19 is higher in Italy and most European countries? Because they are socialist and have socialized medicine. They are just letting people die. But socialized medicine is wonderful isn't it?
Our country right now looks like communist Russia where people had to stand in line for hours every day just to buy one loaf of bread. Okay maybe it's not that bad yet but you get the picture.
Communism and Socialism are not good. They take away our God-given right of agency. Agency is a major part of our Heavenly Father's Plan of Salvation. We are free to choose. Satan's plan takes away agency. Socialism and Communism fall right in line with Satan's plan. Who wants to be told what they can and cannot do? Certainly not me. I treasure my agency.
What's with all this anger and shaming going on? This media generated panic has people shaming each other for living life. "You're selfish for going out of your house." "Stay 6 feet away from me." "It's because of people like you..." Etc. My question is, why are the shamers out of their house? If they self quarantine, then what chance do they have of contracting the virus? Leave people alone. Quit judging others. If you're so concerned about contracting the virus from others, stay home! There's no need to shame other people.
I am all for preventing the spread of infectious diseases. And sometimes that requires quarantine of sick people. And I would even agree that in the future perhaps these drastic measures may need to be implemented to prevent a virulent pandemic with a high mortality rate. But COVID-19 isn't it. It is much less virulent than past pandemics such as SARS and MERS which have mortality rates of 15% and 35% respectively. COVID-19 is such a new virus that it's hard to put hard stats on it yet. But it appears to be mild in about 80% of the people who contract it. The mortality rate is estimated at anywhere from 0.4% - 3% as of now. Apparently it is more contagious but less virulent than SARS or MERS. Because it is so mild in so many people, the number of people who contract this new Chinese virus may be much greater than what they are counting. Which would drive down the mortality rate.
Anyway, I don't believe -- at this point with this novel Chinese coronavirus -- that healthy non-symptomatic people should be quarantined and their lives turned upside down. All 327 million Americans lives are being majorly disrupted because of all the government regulations. The economy is tanking. Society has pretty much shut down. America has become a giant ghost town.
This is socialism.
And for what? The numbers are silly. As of right now, according to Johns Hopkins coronavirus tracker, there are 353,692 known cases worldwide. And 15,430 deaths worldwide. According to WHO the seasonal influenza virus kills 290,000 - 650,000 people every year worldwide. And we don't shut the country and world down every flu season. Even if the numbers do reach or exceed the levels of the seasonal flu, I still think all this panic and government regulation is unnecessary. And this is coming from someone who even a cold might kill. But I'm not panicking. I'm not scared. Cautious yes, scared no.
Because of the media generated panic, people are treating this new coronavirus like it has a 100% mortality rate. And that is far from the truth.
The good news is, pandemics always come to an end. They always run their course. In a few months, this will be behind us.
We will all go back to living in a democracy where we can exercise our agency. We will be able to go to church again. Schools will reopen. Live sports will be played again. Grocery store shelves will be fully stocked. Restaurants will reopen. Stores will reopen. And life will go on normally, as it once did.
If there is a silver lining to this -- Hopefully people will realize the devastation that socialism/communism causes.

Worse Than the Twilight Zone
Life on planet Earth is now officially worse than living in the twilight zone.
The United States of America, our great democracy, is becoming a communist dictatorship. The state of California has now mandated that everybody stay home. All 40 million residents of California are quarantined? All because of a virus that has killed a little over 100 people in this country so far.
Here in the hotspot of Washington state, our deranged governor -- Jay Inslee -- has ordered a halt to elective surgeries and dental services in order to preserve medical supplies to treat the pandemic.
Yesterday my mom got a call canceling her upcoming procedure. This is a much-needed procedure to eliminate infection. Without this procedure her quality of life will remain grim as she struggles to stay hydrated and keep her electrolytes in balance. Yet it has been determined that it is not dire enough that she can't wait two or three months. Insane! I'm sure there are many people who need procedures and surgeries that are being canceled and postponed because they are considered elective or not emergent. And not having regular dental care can lead to serious heart infections or other serious issues.
Yet, not included in Inslee's mandate is abortion. So, people can continue to kill babies and waste necessary -- apparently scarce -- medical supplies and equipment. Because apparently it is much more important and urgent to continue killing babies than it is to treat legitimate medical needs.
People can continue to suffer for the next few months with their medical problems. So called elective procedures that are banned now include: joint replacement, Cataract and lens surgery, non-emergent cardiac surgeries, some endoscopy, interventional radiology services, etc. This information I obtained from Governor Inslee's government website. So people must suffer with arthritic joint pain, not being able to see, heart trouble, gastrointestinal trouble etc. for a few more months. But heaven forbid they stop the necessary and urgent murder of babies. Apparently murdering babies is a top priority for Governor Inslee.
I just don't have any more words for the insanity, madness, lunacy and just plain craziness and evil that is happening. All because some Liberal Democrats decided to politicize and weaponize a new viral outbreak from China.
When the swine flu killed 200,000 people 10 years ago, life went on as normal. With this new pandemic, everyone's lives are being turned upside down. And it's all political.
Pandemics run their course. Yes, we should all be cautious and always practice good hygiene and infection control. But millions of healthy people should not be quarantined. Healthy people should not stay home from work or school. Stores and restaurants should not be closed down. It shouldn't look like the apocalypse when you go to your regularly scheduled doctor's appointment. Everybody should be able to get the medical treatments and surgeries that they need and want.
The Liberal Democrat media created this monster strictly for political gain. It has snowballed into something far worse than anything you would see on The Twilight Zone.

Sheer Lunacy
I went to a doctor's appointment today. A specialist. It was a very strange experience.
First of all, yesterday the office called to remind me of my appointment and they said if I have a cough, fever, or trouble breathing that I need to reschedule. Then they stated that they will be taking temperatures at the door and making everyone use hand sanitizer. This is just to get in the office. Oh and they strongly recommended that non-patients wait in their cars. But they were allowing one person to accompany each patient, if necessary.
This morning the van wouldn't start. Lisa tried two different jump starter machines and neither worked. So I told her just to use her car and it worked. But then we were 20 minutes late. But we were actually only five minutes late because they told us to get there 15 minutes early. So it all worked out. But it didn't start out very good. And went downhill from there.
So we get there to the office. Take the elevator up to the second floor. Go down the hallway to the office. Outside is waiting a man in near hazmat attire -- gowned, gloved, masked. He is sitting next to a table with medical supplies -- thermometer, hand sanitizer, gloves, etc. So he tells us he needs to take our temperature before we can go in. We both passed and were given a Post-it note with our temperatures on it as an admittance ticket to give to the receptionist. Then after filling out a bunch of paperwork to assure them that we do not have symptoms of COVID-19 we were allowed to sit in the waiting room. We were the only ones there.
On the door from the waiting room to the treatment rooms there was a sign stating that only patients were allowed back beyond that door. Lisa asked them if she could come back with me because I had paperwork to show the doctor. The medical assistant just took the paperwork from Lisa and I had to go back myself. She told me to back in the room because it was so small. Which was difficult because I can't see behind me. Then after she asked me some questions and took my pulse and blood pressure she said the doctor will be in, closed the door, and left.
So I was left in this tiny room all alone with the door closed and no way to get out. I thought it might take five minutes. After about 20 minutes I was starting to get worried thinking that they forgot about me and I was trapped in a tiny closed room while they went to lunch. What if I would have stroked out or had a myocardial infarction from the stress? Or suffered any emergency or even perished?
Leaving a quadriplegic patient alone in a closed room for 30+ minutes is a lot riskier than the infinitesimally minuscule chance that my sister and caregiver will give the paranoid medical staff a flulike virus. But, what else should I expect from paranoid selfish liberals in full panic mode?
Heaven forbid they actually think about what's best for the patient.
The only thing that kept me from ramming my chair into the door to alert somebody that I was trapped inside was knowing that Lisa was outside waiting for me and would come get me after a while. Seriously I was about to start bawling right before the doctor came in. Just thinking of how stupid it was to imprison me without a way out. It's a good thing I'm not claustrophobic or I would have been in full panic mode. But unlike them, with actual good reason.
So the doctor finally comes in an hour after my appointment time. She's wearing a surgical mask with face guard like I used to wear in surgery or doing autopsies. As if I'm going to spew bodily fluids on her during our purely verbal appointment. First of all she had the mask under her nose. Secondly she kept touching and adjusting the mask every 5 seconds. With her bare hands. No gloves. And this is a medical doctor trained in aseptic technique? What a joke! So basically what she was doing was concentrating all of the germs on her mask and by touching it, transferring the concentrated germs onto her hands. Then she was using the computer and writing stuff down and touching my personal paperwork I gave her to look at, which I was getting back.
After I told her some of my symptoms I was experiencing she asked me why I thought I was having those symptoms. I had to clarify her question because it was so strange. Isn't that why I am there to see her? She's the medical specialist. So she basically told me she doesn't know how to help me and gives me a few dietary changes to try if I want to. She suggested a diagnostic procedure -- which is exactly what I knew she would do. So I inquired about this procedure and the logistics of it. She told me because of the current pandemic that she would not schedule it for a few months to protect me. I told her that I am not scared of COVID-19 and I think it is being blown way out of proportion. She told me she disagrees with me and thinks it's going to get bad. Right then I knew she was a paranoid liberal. I used to think she was a fairly good doctor. But after today, I don't think she's good at all. She even told me to trust the other doctor more than her about her specialty.
I never had much confidence in medical doctors and the like. Training in medicine and working with many different medical professionals, especially doctors, made me realize how little they actually know. And now it's clear that they are easily swayed by the media and peer pressure. And apparently have easily forgotten much of their training in microbiology and asepsis.
This whole pandemic crisis is sheer lunacy. People are as mad as hatters. Just going to a regularly scheduled doctor's appointment to see a specialist completely unrelated to infectious disease is like going into an infectious disease war zone. Even the medical doctors are acting as if we are in the Apocalypse. Sheer lunacy I tell you! Like I said before, if I was living it, I wouldn't believe it.

Prophecy Being Fulfilled
There are many scriptures prophesying about the last days in which we live. Before the Second Coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This one sums it up very succinctly.
I find it interesting how the Lord has been preparing us for this time. My entire five decades on this earth we have been taught to be prepared for troubled times. Food storage, emergency supplies, 72 hour kits, self-reliance, etc. have all been ingrained in our brains for decades by church leaders.
And most recently our Prophet, President Russell M. Nelson, has made many changes in the church in the past two years preparing us for this commotion we are now facing in the world. Home-based church was implemented January 2019. The way we minister to each other was revamped to a more Christlike way of serving each other.
We are certainly living in the last days. In fact, we are living in the last few minutes if not seconds of the 11th hour before the Second Coming. We have been warned and instructed. Are we prepared? Do we heed the Prophet's counsel? If so, we have nothing to fear. "...but if ye are prepared ye shall not fear." (Doctrine and Covenants 38:30)
Just this morning there was a 5.7 magnitude earthquake in Utah. These are perilous times. Prophecy is being fulfilled. There will be much more calamity in the future. Here is a more detailed scripture of what we can expect to occur in our world before Christ comes again.
Doctrine and Covenants 45:26-35
Yes, we live in troubled times. But we also live in a glorious time when the Gospel has been restored to its fullness. We have a living prophet to guide us through these rough waters. If we follow the Prophet and live the Gospel, we need not fear.
"And all things shall be in commotion; and surely, men’s hearts shall fail them; for fear shall come upon all people." -- Doctrine and Covenants 88:91All things are certainly in commotion right now in this world with the fear and panic going on over this COVID-19 virus. If I wasn't living it, I wouldn't believe it. Fear has certainly come upon almost all people. There are a few of us left with some common sense.

33 And there shall be earthquakes also in divers places, and many desolations; yet men will harden their hearts against me, and they will take up the sword, one against another, and they will kill one another.

35 And I said unto them: Be not troubled, for, when all these things shall come to pass, ye may know that the promises which have been made unto you shall be fulfilled.Hmm, desolating sickness, earthquakes, iniquity, turning hearts from God, commotion... to name a few. Sound familiar?
Yes, we live in troubled times. But we also live in a glorious time when the Gospel has been restored to its fullness. We have a living prophet to guide us through these rough waters. If we follow the Prophet and live the Gospel, we need not fear.
"But my disciples shall stand in holy places, and shall not be moved." (D&C 45:32)I see the commotion all around me -- people panicking with fear -- yet I remain calm and unafraid. This is the peace that the Gospel brings. Are you prepared? If not, I strongly urge you to get your life in order and get on the covenant path. It's a much happier, more peaceful existence.

Pure Insanity
We are experiencing pure insanity. Driven by a rabid media intent on instilling fear and panic in the masses. All in a last-ditch effort to gain power in the White House. It all comes down to the liberal Democrat media creating panic and fear in the American people to disrupt the economy and push their agendas. They want President Trump out and will do absolutely anything at anybody's expense to reach their goal. Nothing they've done has worked thus far. They don't care about human lives or US citizens. They are power hungry and greedy and are disgustingly happy about illness and death and economic downturns because they think that will give them the power they so desperately want.
Even since I wrote my blog post yesterday more insanity has ensued. The church -- The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints -- has temporarily suspended all public gatherings including weekly worship service. Worldwide! No more church until further notice. And just a few moments ago they announced no more temple work except select live ordinances. Crazy! April General Conference will be held without a congregation. It won't even be broadcast to church buildings. The only way to watch it is at home through technology. The upcoming annual women's conference at BYU and BYU graduation have been canceled. Live devotionals -- basically any gathering has been canceled.
I do find it interesting that we have been prepared for this. Last year the prophet, President Russell M. Nelson, implemented a new study at home program -- Come Follow Me. This is a testament to me of living prophets and modern-day revelation. The Lord knew this day would come and prepared His Church through His prophet.
Also yesterday after I posted, I found out that the NCAA basketball tournament -- March Madness -- has been canceled. So sad for all the kids who worked so hard to make it to the tournament. NBA, NHL, MLB, the Masters golf tournament, etc. have all been canceled or postponed.
Schools from elementary to university have been shut down or are only online now. Lines are out the door with people waiting hours to just get in to stock up on food and supplies. Air travel has been suspended in many areas.
This is pure insanity!
Reality check -- worldwide there are only 137,445 confirmed cases of COVID-19. In the United States as of right now there are 1,268 confirmed cases. Deaths worldwide 5,088. US deaths total 40. Not 40,000 -- not 4000, not even 400 -- just 40. Those are miniscule numbers compared to other pandemics. Over 327 million people in this country are having their lives totally disrupted and turned upside down because of a virus similar to the seasonal flu that has killed 40 people thus far. Insane.
I am not an epidemiologist, nor am I a virologist, or even an infectious disease specialist. But I have trained in medicine and biology. I even did a one-month infectious disease rotation during medical school. So I am confident that I know a lot more than the average person about infectious diseases.
I am sure the numbers will get much worse as this pandemic progresses. It may surpass other pandemics in terms of numbers. But I don't see it being any worse than seasonal flu-- Which this season has already killed 22,000 people in this country so far. The vast majority of people recover from COVID-19. Every death so far in the United States has been in someone over age 50. So why are they closing schools?
It is just pure insanity to me -- the panic and fear instilled in people by the media.
During my ID rotation at a hospital in the Los Angeles area, I was exposed to or at least in close contact with many infectious diseases. Including highly contagious diseases such as tuberculosis and meningitis. I remember being a little scared being in the same room with these highly contagious patients. But, I followed protocol and wore a gown and gloves and mask. I never contracted any of the infectious diseases to which I was exposed.
I am more aware than most about how infectious diseases are spread and how to prevent getting sick. I have always tried to practice good hygiene with aseptic technique when possible. But I also live in the world where infectious diseases are all around us. And sometimes you get sick. That's life.
If there is a positive to this, it is hopefully making people more aware of how to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. Using good hygiene, self quarantine (Staying home when sick) etc.
But the panic, fear, and disruption of society is uncalled for. Shame on the media and liberal Democrats for putting their lust for power ahead of people's lives.

Even since I wrote my blog post yesterday more insanity has ensued. The church -- The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints -- has temporarily suspended all public gatherings including weekly worship service. Worldwide! No more church until further notice. And just a few moments ago they announced no more temple work except select live ordinances. Crazy! April General Conference will be held without a congregation. It won't even be broadcast to church buildings. The only way to watch it is at home through technology. The upcoming annual women's conference at BYU and BYU graduation have been canceled. Live devotionals -- basically any gathering has been canceled.
I do find it interesting that we have been prepared for this. Last year the prophet, President Russell M. Nelson, implemented a new study at home program -- Come Follow Me. This is a testament to me of living prophets and modern-day revelation. The Lord knew this day would come and prepared His Church through His prophet.
Also yesterday after I posted, I found out that the NCAA basketball tournament -- March Madness -- has been canceled. So sad for all the kids who worked so hard to make it to the tournament. NBA, NHL, MLB, the Masters golf tournament, etc. have all been canceled or postponed.
Schools from elementary to university have been shut down or are only online now. Lines are out the door with people waiting hours to just get in to stock up on food and supplies. Air travel has been suspended in many areas.
This is pure insanity!
Reality check -- worldwide there are only 137,445 confirmed cases of COVID-19. In the United States as of right now there are 1,268 confirmed cases. Deaths worldwide 5,088. US deaths total 40. Not 40,000 -- not 4000, not even 400 -- just 40. Those are miniscule numbers compared to other pandemics. Over 327 million people in this country are having their lives totally disrupted and turned upside down because of a virus similar to the seasonal flu that has killed 40 people thus far. Insane.

Future pandemics may require such drastic measures but certainly not this one.

Oh No Panic
This COVID-19 Chinese virus -- now reaching pandemic status -- is being blown way out of proportion by the biased media. The media/Democrats are politicizing this new virus spreading across the globe as a last-ditch effort to get rid of President Trump and put one of their weasels in office.
It's absolutely sickening what the rabid media and Democrats are willing to do for political gain. They are basically causing so much panic in the general public that society is shutting down. All sporting events are being canceled or played without fans. Religious gatherings including Sunday services are being canceled or pared down. Medical facilities are closing down entrances and only letting those in who pass their test. They're even taking people's temperatures at the door. Nobody is shopping or going out to eat. The stock market is crashing. People are panic buying toilet paper (weird), hand sanitizer, masks, etc. School concerts and all extracurricular activities are being canceled. Colleges and universities have shut down and are only online now. The list goes on and on. It's absolutely ridiculous!
First of all this COVID-19 (which stands for COrona VIrus Disease and 19 stands for the year it was discovered) is not nearly as virulent as many of the recent pandemics we've experienced. Remember SARS, MERS, Ebola virus, swine flu, bird flu, etc.? Mortality rates are much higher in many of those infectious diseases, yet we never had the panic in this country that we are experiencing now with this particular coronavirus.
Granted we are still in the early stages of the pandemic in this country, but it is still a miniscule number compared to other outbreaks. For example, remember the swine flu of 2009-2010? According to the CDC 60.8 million people in the United States were infected with swine flu. 274,304 were hospitalized. And 12,469 died. Yet, you probably barely remember it. It's because Obama was in office and the media treated him like a king. They did not blame Obama for the swine flu. There was no widespread panic caused by the media.
Compare those numbers to the most recent numbers available for COVID-19. As of this very minute, according to Johns Hopkins University there are 127,863 worldwide cases of COVID-19 infection. 1,323 of which are in the United States. Total deaths worldwide total 4,718. 39 of which are in the United States. 30 of those are in Washington State and 23 of those were at one nursing care facility in Kirkland.
Now, I'm not saying that this won't get worse. Obviously it will. But those are such tiny numbers to be causing such panic and wreaking such havoc on society. People don't panic every year like this during flu season and shut everything down. Yet every year the common yearly influenza virus infects millions and kills tens of thousands in the United States. I looked at the statistics from last year. "CDC estimates that influenza was associated with more than 35.5 million illnesses, more than 16.5 million medical visits, 490,600 hospitalizations, and 34,200 deaths during the 2018–2019 influenza season."
This happens every year people. There is no panic every year. This is part of life. Infectious diseases are part of life. Learn hygiene, do what you can to avoid becoming infected and infecting others. But live your life. Don't panic. This is absolutely ridiculous what's going on.
Now I just read that our governor here in Washington just ordered that all public schools in King, Pierce, and Snohomish Counties will be closed from March 17 through April 27. Unbelievable.
This is really getting out of hand. I could completely understand this if COVID-19 was an extremely virulent viral infection with a high mortality rate. But it isn't. It is on par with the average influenza virus.
Like I just said, infectious diseases are part of life. There will always be a new outbreak of infectious disease. There will always be a new pandemic every year or two. We have all been taught from the time we were little how to deal with and prevent the spread of infectious diseases. Wash your hands, cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze, avoid going out in public when you are sick. Etc. but life goes on.
The media is really doing a disservice to society by politicizing this virus and causing such unnecessary panic and disruption to our country. Not only is it extremely irresponsible. But it is downright cruel to cause such fear and panic in the general public -- all in the name of politics. Absolutely disgraceful.

37.2 Trillion
Yesterday in Sunday School the teacher mentioned that she is a school teacher. She said she teaches life science to 13-year-olds. One of the commenters decide to use a life science analogy. He said that he heard that the human body is composed of 7 billion cells. The teacher quickly corrected him and said there are actually 300 million cells in the human body. She seemed very sure of herself as if she was quoting fact. Well, this piqued my interest because I thought her estimate was extremely low. I thought that the man making the comment was closer. But I wasn't sure. Instinctively it just didn't sound right. I probably learned that at one point during my biology studies but I don't remember.
So, I decide to look it up. Come to find out, both estimates were grossly underestimated. The average human body has 37.2 trillion cells in it. Of course people come in different sizes so the estimate is 30-40 trillion cells in a human body.
Trillion is a hard number to wrap your mind around. Lets think of it in terms of $1000 bills. 1 million is 1000 thousand dollar bills. A $1 million stack of $1000 bills would be 4 inches high. $1 billion is 1000 million dollars. A billion-dollar stack of $1000 bills is 358 feet high. Around the height of a skyscraper. $1 trillion stack of $1000 bills would be 67.9 miles high! Think of driving 67.9 miles with $1000 bills lining the road stacked sideways -- not end-to-end. It would take an hour to drive that far going 67.9 mph.
Another way to try to wrap your head around the vastness of 1 trillion is to think of it in seconds. 1000 seconds is 16 minutes. 1 million seconds is 12 days. 1 billion seconds is 32 years. 1 trillion seconds is 32,000 years.
Now that you have somewhat of a grasp of how much 1 trillion is, let's elaborate on the cells in the human body. So how do you count the number of cells in the human body? Well, you can't. But using mathematics ye can come up with a good estimate.
In 2013 a group of European researchers came up with their best estimate for the number of cells in the human body. The number they came up with was 37.2 trillion.
There are about 200 different types of cells in the human body. There are different sizes and composition of human cells. The researchers who came up with the number 37.2 trillion used the five most common types of cells in the human body which account for 97% of cell types in our bodies. They did the calculation of a 100 kg (220 pound) adult male. This is how they came up with the 37.2 trillion number.
Interestingly red blood cells make up over 80% of our body in terms of cell numbers. 20 to 30 trillion red blood cells. Yet they total only 4% of total body mass. You can put 100 red blood cells side by side and they would equal approximately the diameter of a human hair. Contrast that with fat cells. Fat cells make up only about 0.2% of the total number of cells in our body. Yet they total around 19% of our body mass. There are around 50 billion fat cells and approximately 2 billion heart muscle cells in our body. But they pale in comparison to the 20 to 30 trillion red blood cells in our bodies.
There is no way to really know how many cells make up your body. If you calculate the weight or mass of an average human cell and compare that to the average mass or weight of the human body you get 70 trillion cells.
If you calculate the average volume of the human cell and compare it to the average volume of a human body you get 15 trillion cells. That's a huge difference! So the 30 to 40 trillion sounds logical.
Interestingly, it is estimated that there are 10 times more bacterial cells in and on our bodies than human cells which make up our bodies. But they are so much smaller that they only account for around 200 g body weight. Which is less than half a pound.
Anyway, that was a long way of making my point that the Sunday School teacher/life science teacher was exceedingly low (as I suspected) in her estimate of the number of cells in the human body. In terms of scale using our time analogy. 300 million seconds = 9.8 years. 37.2 trillion seconds equals 1,190,400 years. 9.8 years versus nearly 1.2 million years is a huge difference! Vast discrepancy.

Come to Church
So many people nowadays are either leaving organized religion or not joining at all. It's tragic. I read a couple of things today that made me sad. Many times I've heard people say that their church is (fill in the blank). Music, mountains, golf, etc.
It's true that you can be uplifted through inspiring music, serene places like the mountains and maybe even while playing golf in a peaceful beautiful golf course setting. But, it certainly isn't church. Church is so much more than just feeling peace and being inspired -- even with the Holy Ghost testifying, comforting, and teaching you.
It saddens me that so many people don't understand the importance of church membership and attendance. Because it makes life so much more fulfilling and happy.
I could cite numerous scriptures about why going to church is a commandment and why it's important. Instead, I'm just going to tell you in my own words. Mostly because I'm too lazy to do the work required. :-)
Everybody knows the 10 Commandments found in the book of Exodus in the Old Testament. The fourth commandment is to keep the Sabbath day holy. One of the ways we do that is to go to church.
Besides it being a commandment, we go to church for numerous reasons. Including: to partake of the Sacrament and renew our covenants made at baptism. To be with other members who help strengthen us. To learn or be reminded of doctrine. To serve and share and strengthen our talents in callings. To be inspired and feel the Spirit. To name a few.
All of those other things that people like to pretend are their "church" cannot fulfill all of the things that actually belonging to and going to church does for us.
Yes, church requires effort. Church may not be as fun as some of those other activities. But, going to Church provides structure and a social network that you can't find anywhere else. Church also provides stability, fulfillment, and happiness.
Belonging to the Lord's restored Church and worshiping weekly at church provides strength and comfort and a sense of belonging and happiness that can only be found in the Lord's true church.
I wish everyone could understand and take the necessary steps to get on the covenant path by joining or coming back to the Lord's true church. It has brought me such joy, happiness and peace that I wish everyone could experience.

Welcome Baby Miley!
Last night my niece, Mercedes, gave birth to a beautiful baby girl!
That makes me a Great Aunt. So exciting!
Mercedes had a rough pregnancy dealing with hyperemesis gravidarum the entire nine months. Thankfully she has a wonderful husband who is so supportive and helped her tremendously during her pregnancy. Mercedes is a trooper and completed beauty school while pregnant and dealing with hyperemesis gravidarum.
Baby Miley Noelle Balzer was lovingly welcomed into the world last night at 11:17 PM. She weighed in at 7 lbs. 13 oz. And was 20 inches long.
Our family is so proud of Mercedes and baby Miley!
Miley is so lucky and blessed to be born in the covenant to goodly parents who will teach her the gospel of Jesus Christ. She will need it to navigate through mortality!

Blue Jay, Dog Tree, and Dad
Yesterday I took my usual trip down to the dog tree. As soon as I parked my wheelchair, I saw a Blue Jay come flying towards the dog tree and land at the base of the trunk. The bird proceeded to forage for seeds then flew up and landed on one of the branches.
This is the first time I have seen a Blue Jay since Dad used to feed the birds every morning and we would watch them eat seeds while we ate our breakfast.
I actually have never seen a Blue Jay at the dog tree before. I always see lots of birds but the only time I've seen Blue Jays is when Dad would feed them.
So I took this as a message that Dad was with me. The dog tree is where I go to talk to Dad. I always imagine him sitting on the bench. This is where he and I have had many chats in the past.
We know that the Spirit World is here but in a different realm. Our loved ones who have passed on before us are near us. Some of them may even be our guardian angels. I know that Dad is near. I know he was with me at the dog tree yesterday.

He's absolutely right. Liberals are gutless pansies. They portray themselves as caring and big hearted but they are just the opposite. Everything they do is for their own benefit. It's all a ruse. They blame everyone else for everything bad and play the victim card. They want to make others-- mostly conservatives -- look bad and themselves look good. They have no intentions of ever fixing problems. If Michelle Obama really cared about those girls being kidnapped and enslaved she certainly could have done more than put on a sad face and hold a piece of paper with a hash tag on it. For a photo op. It's all about appearance and how they are perceived.
That's all liberals do -- portray themselves in the best light as caring, loving, wonderful humans. When in fact, they are just the opposite. It's all a show. Conservatives are proactive. They actually look for solutions to problems. And then do it. President Trump is a good example of a conservative actually doing something to fix problems. Instead of just talking about it and feigning to care. Conservatives actually do care. That's the difference. They just don't pretend to care.

Eagles, Parrots, Doves, Owls
I read a conservative website called American Thinker. I don't read all the articles but usually glance the headlines daily. Today there was an interesting article about personality characteristics and winning presidential elections. Here is a link to the article if you want to check it out.

Of course, when I read this I immediately tried to figure out which bird I am. I would definitely classify myself as an Eagle. I'm certainly confident and blunt. I am also analytical so I might have some Owl in me. But I think I'm mostly Eagle. What do you think?

Rush Limbaugh Nails It

Democrats are nothing but a bunch of ignorant, angry, miserable, atheists. Just the other day I was conversing with someone about how people who leave the Church and turn their backs on God always end up being miserable liberals. And in the process end up losing a significant amount of IQ points.
It's sad but true.
