The Peacock Was Robbed

It just so happens that Donny Osmond was competing as a peacock in "the Masked Singer" at the same time I happen to be on a Donny and Marie kick.  So I had never watched the show but saw the performances and clues on YouTube. The clues made it so obvious that the peacock was Donny Osmond that I would easily have bet my life on it.  Then seeing Donny's signature moves on stage left absolutely no doubt who the peacock was.  So I wanted to watch the finale on television, to see Donny win.  It was down to three masked singers.  The peacock (Donny Osmond), the bee (Gladys Knight), and the monster (some dude I've never heard of called T. pain).

The peacock's performances were heads and tails above the competition.  It was like a race between a cheetah and a sloth, turtle, snail, or any other slow-moving land animal.  The peacock (Donny) left them all in the dust!  He is the only one who actually performed.  Everyone else just sang.  Even at 61, Donny's got some serious dance moves.  And his voice has never been better.  Not to mention, he had the best costume.  I mean seriously, how can anyone top a 70s jumpsuit collar and cape?

Unfortunately there was obvious bias in the judging for whatever reason.  And Donny came in second.  :-( But America knows he won hands down.  He didn't even come in second to Gladys Knight, T. pain won the trophy.  Whoever he is.  His performances were just average.  In fact there were several who were kicked off before him who were better than him.  I don't know what the show's obsession with the monster was but the bias was obvious.

The peacock was robbed.

That's my two cents.

Sick Depraved Democrats

As you may recall, I posted a letter I sent to Senator Patty Murray and mentioned her opposition to the proposed bill By Senator Ben Sasse of Nebraska that would protect babies who survive abortion. The Senate voted on it today.  It didn't pass. This just makes me sick.  Read the following from Rush Limbaugh today:
"Senator Ben Sasse of Nebraska proposed a simple bill in the United States Senate. It’s called the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act.
"It had one objective, and that was to force lawmakers to go on the record about whether they support or oppose infanticide.
"Now, the bill in the Senate that Sasse authored is titled S. 311. It aimed to ensure that, quote, “If an abortion results in the live birth of an infant, the infant is a legal person for all purposes under the laws of the United States,” and the Constitution, “and entitled to all the protections of such laws.” Quite simple, isn’t it? If an abortion results in the live birth of a baby, a baby human being, that baby, that human being is at that moment a legal person for all purposes under the laws of the U.S.
"What do you think happened? That bill failed. The vote was 53 to 44. They needed 60 votes for the bill to pass. A bunch of Democrats — and among them several Democrat candidates for the Democrat presidential nomination in 2020 — voted against the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act.
“The vote was preceded by intense debate on the Senate floor, during which Democrats falsely claimed that the bill contained language that would hinder women’s health care.”
"Let me read to you the bill: “If an abortion results in the live birth of an infant, the infant is a legal person for all purposes under the laws of the United States, and entitled to all the protections of such laws.” Where is anything about the health of the mother in that bill? It isn’t. There is nothing that would hinder women’s health care.
"Do you not find it strange that in the United States of America we may need a separate piece of legislation to say that a human being is indeed a human being? And that now we’ve got the Democrat Party in most numbers voting against that proposition? We thought it was bad when Ralph Northam of Virginia and then the New York state Senate gave it a standing O, but now it’s the U.S. Senate, my friends, the U.S. Senate that says that baby ain’t one." -- Rush Limbaugh.com, February 26, 2019
Here is what President Trump tweeted about it:
“Senate Democrats just voted against legislation to prevent the killing of newborn infant children. The Democrat position on abortion is now so extreme that they don’t mind executing babies AFTER birth. This will be remembered as one of the most shocking votes in the history of Congress. If there is one thing we should all agree on, it’s protecting the lives of innocent babies.”  -- President Trump
Elizabeth Warren a.k.a. Fauxcahontas for claiming to be Native American when she isn't, tweeted this about the bill to protect infants who survive abortion not passing:
“Republican politicians just tried (and failed) again to score political points at the expense of women. Enough.
"Women and their doctors should decide what’s best for their health – not the @SenateGOP.”  -- Elizabeth Warren
It baffles the mind at how stupid Democrats are.  Seriously, how can so many people be so clueless?  What don't they understand about the baby already being born. The bill is written very clearly and simply.  It has nothing to do with the health of the mother.  The baby is already born!  It's about murder.  It's about infanticide.  Liberals are such idiots.  It's really unbelievable.
"Man, are these people poisoned! This goes beyond corruption. This is some kind of deep, deep, deep sickness.  -- Rush Limbaugh.com, February 26, 2019
Rush Limbaugh hit the nail on the head.  Democrats/liberals are sick, sick, depraved people!  It's disgusting.

That's my two cents.

Jumpsuits Rock

Jumpsuits are the epitome of fashion.  I love me a good jumpsuit.  Yes, I am a child of the 70s.  If it's good enough for the King of rock 'n roll, it's good enough for me.  The Osmond Brothers felt the same way.  They rocked some awesome jumpsuits back in the day. Elvis told the Osmonds that they should wear jumpsuits to look more macho.  It worked.

Elvis in his peacock jumpsuit.
Perhaps Donny is paying homage
in The Masked Singer.
Just a bit of trivia.  Elvis paid the designer $10,000 for the peacock jumpsuit.  Apparently it was his favorite.  Elvis believed peacocks brought good luck.  It sold in 2008 for $300,000. A record for Elvis memorabilia at the time.  Not sure if the record still stands.  But it's only apropos that the record should go to a jumpsuit.  :-)  Perhaps the peacock will bring Donny good luck in The Masked Singer.

Awesome bellbottoms
I'm a bling kind of girl so I love all the embellishments on the jumpsuits.  And let's not forget the belt.  The belt is a key accessory to a good looking jumpsuit.

If my information is correct, the Osmonds also used the same designer as Elvis.

I actually took a screenshot of the Yo-Yo video so I could post the black jumpsuits.  So cool. I love how each jumpsuit is a little bit different and they each have their own accessory color.

Anyone who was cool in the 70s had a jumpsuit.  Even Evel Knievel wore jumpsuits.  I rest my case.

When we were kids growing up in the 70s, Lisa and I had jumpsuits.  We both remember them.  We have photographic evidence somewhere which we are still searching for.  When/if we find it I will post it here.

70s fashions made a brief comeback around the turn of the millennium.  Bell bottoms, platforms, jumpsuits -- all the awesomeness of the 70s.  Unfortunately it didn't last long.  But I was lucky enough to find this gem.

December 17, 2001
It's even got an awesome belt!  Not quite the bling of Elvis and the Osmonds but then again this is everyday wear, not made for performing.

Notice the platform shoes intact.  :-) I had my fair share of platform shoes.  Love them!

My Charlie's Angels pose.

The lighting is weird on this picture.
Must be my vertical blinds in that apartment.
I loved that jumpsuit.  As you can probably tell by all of the self-portraits.  :-) Not only are jumpsuits quite comfortable, they make you look good too!  ;-)

That's my two cents.

Donny and Marie T-shirt Part Two

Lisa took this picture of me today wearing my Donny and Marie T-shirt that I designed.  I love my Donny and Marie T-shirts so much.  Yes, I'm still on a Donny and Marie kick.  :-)  I watch the Donny and Marie show every night. It's so cool!  It's hard to believe they were only teenagers when they hosted and starred in their own television variety show.

Go Donny and Marie!

Elk Herd in the Snow

This is our elk herd bedded down on our property yesterday.  This is over by the dog tree/dog cemetery.  These are probably some of the best pictures that Dad has taken of the elk.

Prophetic Quote

“If there is anything I’ve learned in my 94 years of living, it is that a life with God is far better — more filled with hope — than one without Him.”

Yo-Yo

I am still on an Osmond kick.  In fact, I'm wearing my Donny and Marie T-shirt right now.  :-)

Check out this video of the Osmonds from September 16, 1971.

Those guys have talent!  I love everything about this video.  The choreography was impeccable. It doesn't get any better than 70s fashions.  By the way, Elvis himself is the one who told the Osmonds to wear jumpsuits.  He told them it would make them look more macho.  So of course, they took the King's advice.  Who wouldn't?  Another side note, I learned that Elvis also told them to take karate.  They learned karate from none other than Chuck Norris. By the way, just for perspective, Donny was only 13 in this video.

I hope you enjoy the incredible talent exhibited in this video.  I love it!

That's my two cents.

Throwback Thursday

Today I thought I would post some pictures from my college days at Utah State University.  I used to take selfies before selfies were cool.  Back then selfie wasn't even a word, they were called self-portraits.  :-)

Anyway here are some throwback photos from my glory days.  :-)

I hope you enjoyed this blast from the past.  There are plenty more where these came from.  :-)

Correspondence with Senator Murray

Back on January 9, as those of you who follow my blog will recall, I sent a short letter to my Senators and Congresswoman. I got ridiculous responses from all of them. Which I ignored. None of which addressed the issues in my e-mail about border security and building a wall on our southern border. Instead they just badmouthed President Trump and blamed him for government shutdown.  Idiots!

But today I had just read that Senator Murray was the one Senator who blocked a bill that would require infants who survive abortions to receive medical treatment and care.  Instead of letting them just die on the table or killing them as the State of New York and Governor of Virginia would like to do.  So I got super ticked when I received her stupid response which did not even address the issues in my e-mail.

So I sent her another e-mail today.  Here is the original letter sent on January 9, 2019.  Followed by her response then my response.
Dear Senator Murray,
Since you represent me, I would like to ask you to please support our president in his efforts to secure our southern border.  This is a very important matter.  I am all for legal immigration.  There is a right way to do it.  Follow the law.  Our country is being invaded by illegal aliens by the thousands every day.  Bringing drugs, gangs, and sex trafficking to name a few of the threats to our nation.  This is unacceptable.
Please support President Trump in building a wall to secure our southern border.  And also please vote to fund border security.
Thank you,
Dr. Tammy Stone
This is the response I received today by e-mail:
Dear Dr. Stone,
Thank you for writing to me to share your thoughts regarding both the partial government shutdown and border security. I appreciate hearing your thoughts on these important topics.

On December 22, 2018, a significant portion of the federal government shut down and remained closed for 35 days, preventing millions of Americans from utilizing important federal programs and leaving more than 800,000 federal workers and their families without pay for weeks. On January 25, 2018, after hearing from so many people about the pointlessness of the shutdown and seeing the real damage being done to our workers, communities, and the economy, President Trump and Senate Republicans reversed course and allowed Congress to reopen the government for three weeks.

The 35-day shutdown caused tremendous damage in Washington state and across the country—uncertainty for workers and families, unpaid household bills, the threat of homelessness to those needing housing assistance, farmers and growers unable to prepare for planting, backlogs and delays at airports and critical federal agencies, trash piling up at our national parks, and so much more. Furthermore, it was a terribly irresponsible precedent to set: the president should never hold the American people hostage on a political whim or force government into chaos and dysfunction over a tantrum. Democrats have made it clear that we are willing to continue working with Republicans on responsible, effective border security now that this reckless shutdown is over. I’m going to be keeping the pressure on President Trump and Senate Republicans to make sure we don’t slide into another completely unnecessary shutdown in just a few short weeks.

Again, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with me, and please know that I will keep them in mind. If you would like to learn more about my work in the Senate, please feel free to sign up for my updates through the subscribe button below.

Sincerely,

Patty Murray
United States Senator
My response:
Dear Senator Murray,
Your rote response to my e-mail to you did not address what I asked of you.  I mentioned nothing about government shutdown.  I merely asked for you to support the president in securing our southern border.  Your response is basically a spit in my face.  It's obvious that you and your Democrat cohorts care more about politics than people.  Tim Ballard of Operation Underground Railroad recently met with President Trump regarding the need to build a wall on the southern border to help prevent sex trafficking.  This is a big problem affecting many children and adults.  Please put politics aside and support the efforts to build a wall along our southern border to help prevent the disgusting and abhorrent practice of human trafficking for sex slavery.
It also came to my attention that you, Patty Murray, D-Wash., rejected the motion to pass the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, authored by Sen. Ben Sasse, R-Nebraska.  Why in the world would you block a bill to provide medical support for babies who survive abortion?  They are human beings who deserve a chance at life.  I'm disgusted that you would not support that bill.  Along same lines, why won't any Democrat stand up in support of life?  Regarding the new law passed by the New York Senate allowing full-term abortions.  Ask any OB/GYN and they will tell you that there is absolutely no reason to abort in the third trimester.  Yes, emergency delivery is sometimes necessary, but never abortion.  Third trimester babies are viable human beings.  Even outside the womb with medical care.  Let God decide if the baby is to survive. There are plenty of people willing to adopt unwanted infants.  The New York  State Senate disgusts me in cheering for legalizing infanticide.  And Governor Northam of Virginia also disgusts me. Pushing a bill to legalize infanticide in Virginia.
Senator Murray, why don't you grow a backbone and stand up for innocent infants?  Why don't you stand up for victims of sex slavery?  Stop thinking of your political career and stand up to your fellow Democrats for human decency.  You represent me, Senator Murray.  I'm embarrassed to be a resident of the State of Washington because of your actions.
Sincerely,
Dr. Tammy Stone
Graham, Washington
I am so sick of idiotic politicians with no common sense nor human decency.

That's my two cents.

Happy Groundhog Day!

Today is my favorite holiday.  Happy Groundhog Day everybody! Looks like Phil did not see his shadow so expect an early spring.  :-)

This is a T-shirt I designed last year.  I'm wearing it today.  :-)
