It used to be that people would feel shame and guilt when they did something wrong. Which would cause them to try to hide their sins from others. But now, people not only unashamedly sin, but they proudly put their sins and wrongdoings on display as if to brag.
Back in the 1950s and prior, premarital sex and subsequent pregnancies were hidden and shameful. People would actually feel guilty for breaking the law of chastity. As well they should. Starting in the 1960s there was a so-called "sexual revolution" where some people claimed that it was freeing to break the law of chastity. "Make love, not war", they would chant. And gradually through the decades, premarital sex and pregnancy outside of marriage were more and more accepted as normal. Now, even people who claim to be good Christians see no problem with living together before marriage and having children outside of wedlock.
Back when I was a kid – in the 70s and 80s – homosexuality was closeted. Except maybe in the Castro district in San Francisco, most homosexuals were not "out" and kept their sexuality to themselves. But in the 1990s and subsequently homosexuality has been portrayed as not only acceptable, but even normal behavior. Now, if you don't embrace homosexuality as normal and good, then you are an intolerant bigot. Some even go so far as to say that you are unloving and un-Christlike. FYI, Christ does not tolerate sin. Yes, He loves all unconditionally. But embracing homosexuality is not Christlike. In fact, it is blasphemous to even say that.
By the way, since when did someone's sexuality become how they are defined as a human? And why is sexuality even mentioned? It really has nothing to do with who you are as a person. But, Satan wants to bring sexuality to the forefront of people's identity. Because breaking the law of chastity is the second worst sin that anyone can commit.
Now that Satan has breaking the law of chastity and all the perversions that go along with it normalized in society, he has started attacking our basic core identity of gender. It used to be that transvestites who wanted to dress up in their wives' clothing would do so in the privacy of their own home – secretly. Without even their wives knowing it. There was no such thing as children being transgendered. Everybody knew what sex they were, a boy or a girl. And no one questioned it.
Then, a few decades ago there started being drag shows. Where perverted men would dress up as women and prance around while other perverted men in the audience would watch them and cheer. But, everybody knew that they were men dressed as women. The cross-dressing men didn't actually claim to be women.
Now, we have so-called transgendered men and women. Men who claim they are women and women who claim they are men. They don't just dress up as the opposite sex, they actually claim to be the opposite sex. Insanity!
Not only that, but in public libraries across the country they are indoctrinating children by having "drag storytime" where men dressed up as women – flamboyant and over the top – read stories to children. And they don't just read innocuous children's story books. They read perverted transgender indoctrinating stories. And, if you thought that was bad, now we have "family-friendly drag shows" where parents actually bring their children to watch men prance around dressed as women with disgusting sexual body parts hanging out in a perverted display of indecent exposure. And speaking all kinds of depraved, perverted, graphic sexual things that would shock most adults, let alone children. It's absolutely disgusting and blatantly evil.
I saw some of the mothers questioned about bringing their children to such sexually graphic shows and they were all defensive and saying that their kids know about sex and they don't keep anything from them. Well you should! You should try to protect your children as much as possible from the evils of the world. You don't throw them into the lion's den! It's unbelievable and blatantly evil.
As most of you know, I quit listening to new music after my accident. Subsequently, I quit watching awards shows. I used to be big into the country music awards shows but since I didn't know any of the new music, they weren't fun to watch anymore. But, a couple years ago I happened to watch part of a country music awards show. And I was flabbergasted at how evil and satanic some of the performances were. I felt like I was watching a scene from hell. Literally.Not only is country music not country anymore, it is evil.
Just this past week, I heard about the Grammy awards. And one performance in particular. The guy comes out dressed as Satan complete with red suit and devil horns. And appropriately singing a song called, "Unholy". The performers were two men but one of them has "transitioned" to female. Basically a man pretending to be a woman. And the other guy I believe claims to be "non-binary". Which basically means he doesn't know what he is. These two men were celebrated for their "brave" performance. I saw a still image and the ending of the number on a podcast. It looked like androgynous demons in hell with Satan dancing around. Blatant evil!
It was basically Satan worship broadcast on national television. Celebrated and applauded. I doubt anyone got up and walked away. But that's what should've happened. In fact they probably got a standing ovation if truth be known.
No longer is evil disguised or subliminal. It is blatant and in-your-face. There are very few sexual sins that are still taboo in society. Even adultery, though still considered a sin by most Christians, is normalized by many in society. Where married couples consensually cheat on each other.
Obviously the definition of marriage is misunderstood by most in society now. Where married couples commit adultery and think nothing of it. And even celebrate their "open" relationship. Where homosexuals can be legally married and this is considered normal in society. Just an FYI, just because sin is celebrated as normal and even legal doesn't mean that it still isn't sin in God's eyes. Many people are in for a rude awakening.
To be clear, the doctrine of marriage has not changed. Marriage is a sacred bond between a man and a woman. It is not to be desecrated.
In bold we read from The Family Proclamation, 1995:
"We, the First Presidency and the Council of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, solemnly proclaim that marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God and that the family is central to the Creator’s plan for the eternal destiny of His children.
…We further declare that God has commanded that the sacred powers of procreation are to be employed only between man and woman, lawfully wedded as husband and wife.
…The family is ordained of God. Marriage between man and woman is essential to His eternal plan. Children are entitled to birth within the bonds of matrimony, and to be reared by a father and a mother who honor marital vows with complete fidelity. Happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ."
Also, gender is not fluid. But has been part of our identity since long before we were born.
"All human beings—male and female—are created in the image of God. Each is a beloved spirit son or daughter of heavenly parents, and, as such, each has a divine nature and destiny. Gender is an essential characteristic of individual premortal, mortal, and eternal identity and purpose."
Nearly 3 decades ago, the prophets foresaw that even something as basic as gender would be questioned. And included this statement in The Family Proclamation in 1995.
They also issued a warning to people who violate covenants and commandments.
We warn that individuals who violate covenants of chastity, who abuse spouse or offspring, or who fail to fulfill family responsibilities will one day stand accountable before God. Further, we warn that the disintegration of the family will bring upon individuals, communities, and nations the calamities foretold by ancient and modern prophets.
28 years ago when The Family Proclamation was given, it seemed like common sense. I wondered why the prophets needed to reiterate what everybody already knew. But, now, the common sense doctrine is a much-needed reminder to not only the world, but even to members of the church.
Evil is all around us. It is rampant and it is blatant. Evil is no longer hidden in shame or in subliminal messages. It is out in the open. Satan is pulling out all stops. He knows his time is short to get as many people to follow him as possible. He wants all to be miserable like he is. And many are falling for his lies and choosing to follow him.
We are in the last days. We are in the last hours, last minutes, and even last seconds before the Savior's Second Coming. It is imminent. Hang on tight, it's a wild ride we are on. Stay strong!
That's my two cents.
It's a sin-sick world. Disgusting! Perversions are everywhere. These innocent kids are being born into environments that embrace sin and like you said, treat sin as if it's "normal." Sin is what is destroying this world. The physical wars and destructions are nothing compared to the destruction sin and perversion is causing.
