RIP President M. Russell Ballard

President M.  Russell Ballard, Acting President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, died yesterday November 12, 2023 at age 95.

I love President Ballard.  He always seemed so kind and gentle.  A loving grandfatherly type.  President Ballard's eyes were failing him and he couldn't read a talk at General Conference this past October.  So he just stood at the pulpit and bore his testimony.  It was beautiful.  (I posted his talk below.)

President Ballard was called to the First Quorum of the Seventy as a General Authority in 1976.  He was subsequently called to be an apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ in 1985 as he was called to The Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.  47 years is a long time to be a full-time servant of the Lord.  He is a truly remarkable man.

President Ballard's wife, Barbara, died in 2018.  I know he missed her dearly and I'm happy that he is now reunited with her on the other side of the veil.

RIP President Ballard.  Thank you for your service and example.

That's my two cents
