Sleaze, Doom, and Hope

I am not one who is prone to suffering from depression. I am generally a happy person. But, ever since Tuesday night I have been sad. My heart sank. It is still sunk. Our once mighty nation is doomed. I know that this was prophesied and it shouldn’t come as a surprise. But I can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of sadness and doom for my beloved country. It is because I understand the implications of what occurred on Tuesday. As do half the people who voted. Those who voted for Romney understood how important this election was. Romney voters are intelligent, decent, hard working, and generally moral/righteous people. That’s what Romney stood for. It’s a tragedy that he will not be able to help us.

Obama voters are idiots. Yes, if you voted for Obama I am calling you an idiot. Not out of anger or meanness but as a matter of fact. I am deeply saddened by the poor choice of half my fellow Americans. For those of you who did vote for Obama, and suffer from idiocy, let me help you out by explaining the definition of idiot.

“An idiot, dolt, or dullard is a mentally deficient person, or someone who acts in a self-defeating or significantly counterproductive way.”—Wikipedia, idiot

I think that definition aptly describes those who voted for Obama. They are too stupid to realize what they have done. They don’t comprehend the destruction this nation now faces. Not only this nation, but the world.

Obama’s reelection goes beyond idiocy, though. It reflects the degradation of society. We have gone from being a nation, under God, founded upon the principles of freedom, hard work, and morals to a nation of entitlement, laziness, immorality and religious oppression.

Thankfully, there are still plenty of people, Romney voters, who love this country and value their freedoms, believe in hard work, and still have morals. Unfortunately, as evidenced by this election, about half of our fellow American citizens don’t hold those same values. And many of them, acting out of hatred and revenge, are doing all they can to destroy us.

For example, look at all the preserve marriage yard signs that were defaced, stolen, burned etc. here in our neighborhoods. My three siblings all had their signs stolen from their yards in three different cities.

With the passing of referendum 74 and initiative 502 legalizing same-sex marriage and marijuana in Washington, we see the downward spiral of moral society.

I read an article this morning that explains this much better than I could. From American thinker.com:

The Death of Ordinary Decency

This has been a mean-spirited campaign, and the meanest, most destructive people won.

So be it.

In the last two Democratic administrations we have seen a sleazier, angrier and more selfish part of America rising up more and more in our political class. The Founders told us that ultimately our elected politicians are a mirror of ourselves. Just like you, before November 7, 2012, I lived in the fervent hope that the degradation of the Clinton and Obama years might be an exception to the long trend of American history. But two times eight years of radical leftists in high office can't be an accident. We can't just blame our sleazy media, or just the leftist political class, as corrupt and malevolent as they truly are.

No -- the balance of decency in America has changed. Every society has normal, decent people and the other kind. The America we grew up in was fundamentally decent. Decency was the expected standard.

Now the balance has changed.

The evidence for our sleazified culture can be seen all around. It is in our pop music, which has lost melody and now just has rhythm. We have a President who won on revenge against middle class values. That's what he meant by telling his people to vote for revenge. And they did -- showing us exactly who they are.

We are now a society divided between the makers and the takers, and the takers are on a campaign of theft and revenge.

…We have a President who takes dangerous pride in his hatred for "middleclassness" as Jeremiah Wright taught him to believe. We have a President who culminated his campaign with a ghetto singer rapping about [misogynistic expletives], about drug-ridden and broken families, as if all those cruelties were good.

This is not normal, decent America.

It is not.

We need to face that.

Morality and values are not small things. The new tide in the affairs of America also means that we can no longer be trusted to defend civilized values around the world, as we have done for the last hundred years.

It's a sea change. Fools around the world will applaud Obama as a savior, but wise people will see us crumbling. They know they will be the worse for it.

Today the world is far more dangerous place than four years ago. If you doubt that, keep an eye on the rise of barbarisms around the world. Obama constantly facilitates barbarism, and the barbarians understand that much better than decent people do.

History buffs will remember that we've had decades of sleaze before. The Founders were followed by Jacksonian corruption. Abraham Lincoln was followed by Reconstruction. Yet we somehow found our way back. Come-backs can happen, but probably not soon.

So this is an elegiac moment, a moment of mourning for what has passed. From Truman and Eisenhower to Bush 43 we have had leaders of character.

No longer.

Republicans by and large still look, act, and speak like normal, decent people. But they have a hard time even understanding a thoroughly sleazified America. Normal, decent people do not know how to live in this new, barbaric society. We live in protected communities, we drive around in SUVs, like armored cars.

The left knows exactly how to act in this Brave New World. They've made it. We are now ruled by sleazy demagogues who take bribes from foreign nations that do not wish us well. Obama is the worst example so far. Even the Clintons, both selfish narcissists, were somewhat better.

With the decline of American decency, the civilized world has lost its foremost defender. America wasn't a world power in earlier times of corruption. We could afford to make mistakes. Today, our national decay endangers the world. The left has purposely attacked our self-respect, our pride in our morality and decency, and our crucial role in the defense of civilized values. We are no longer the Leader of the Free World, because we have lost -- for now -- the values that guided us. America can no longer be trusted, as we saw so clearly in Benghazi and the fraudulent Arab Spring. Any nation that places any trust in our promises today is run by fools. Our allies must arm up to protect themselves, or they must find new, trustworthy allies.

For sixty years Europe has lived off our willingness to come to its defense. The southern rim of Europe is now going bankrupt, and even France looks ready to crumble. Without our leadership Europe has to rely on itself, or on Russia, or on the spreading Muslim empires. But Europe has shown no capacity to defend itself. Maybe they will learn. Or maybe they will be swamped. We can no longer be trusted.” [end of article]

Obama's Election Seals Our Fate

By Monty Pelerin
The Obama re-election dooms the country. It ensures that his philosophy will be imposed for another four years.

His election ensures the continuing shift away from the Rule of Law, property rights, free men, and free markets. Obama's vision of how the world works ensures a dire economy until an economic collapse resets everything. The rest of the world, apparently bigger Obama supporters than U.S. voters, will not be immune from the consequences.

…President Obama's view of the world is in contradiction to anything that has ever succeeded. He believes that elites should manage and direct people's lives. This fatal conceit, as Friedrich Hayek referred to it, produces failure and misery wherever it is tried.

…Civilization advanced and prospered on a foundation of private property, defined rights, free men, free markets, and the Rule of Law. Obama's view is hostile to these pillars of progress despite the lack of evidence of progress for any country that has not adhered to these principles.

There is no evidence of any country which has abandoned these principles ever being able to return to them without major upheaval. Mises observed:

Political ideas that have dominated the public mind for decades cannot be refuted through rational arguments. They must run their course in life and cannot collapse otherwise than in great catastrophe...

The recent election was a prime example of how ratiocination cannot combat ideology. The masses are unable or unwilling to process complex argument in logical fashion. As a result, we reelected a man who does not believe in American values or the principles necessary for progress and well-being. His re-election occurred despite the worst record of domestic and foreign policy outcomes of anyone in the last seven decades.

Where We Are Headed

The United States and Europe have abandoned the fundamentals necessary for progress. Both are hopelessly committed to the failed ideas of Socialism. Both are headed for great catastrophe. The catastrophe extends beyond economic well-being and touches the foundations of society and civilization itself.

We are headed into an economic dark age, where standards of living will continue to decline and may collapse. Societies and civilizations will also regress.

Voluntary cooperation is being replaced by coercion and division. Segments of society are set off against each other. …Western civilization, once the shining city on the hill, has been tarnished. Western countries have abandoned the principles that made them great and have lost much of their luster. The world may soon be without this beacon of freedom and success.

The Meaning of Obama's Election

Here's what this means in my opinion:

1) Obamacare will be fully implemented
2) Biggest tax increase in the history of the world will come January
3) Supreme Court will now be fully liberal
4) We will surrender more of our rights to the UN - guns will be removed
5) The end of the US as we ever knew it
That last one is not hyperbole. I still think the election was stolen as I predicted a 5-10 voter fraud margin, and this is indeed the difference, but why would I make that last point? Here's why. The gov't will increase IMMENSELY the next four years. Gov't employees, union members and welfare dependents will be the BIGGEST VOTING FACTION from now until the end of the US society. We turned into England over night and we will never be able to go back. Exit polls showed overwhelming displeasure with Obamacare and they voted for him anyway. We cannot recover from this.

CONSERVATISM AS AN IDEOLOGY IS OVER IN AMERICA ! We are now officially the land of the dependent, jealous and greedy. Punishing success will be codified. No one will go into medicine or any field that takes a lot of time, money sweat and effort to achieve because work and success will no longer be rewarded.
I am serious when I say I will be stunned if the economic collapse doesn't happen in under two years. This isn't just an emotional reaction to a loss. These were my thoughts before we knew the results.
Make your peace with your family and prepare.

Where Does This Go?

…A collapse is now inevitable. Spending will not shrink. Deficits will rise. Taxes will rise. Economic activity will fall. The debt death spiral will strangle economic activity, and ultimately the economy will implode. Societies themselves will likely be sucked into the abyss.

Obama had no viable economic plan for the last four years, and he is still without one. There has been no progress economically. Instead, we are $5 trillion worse off, with nothing to show for it. His spending will continue for the next four years. It is all that he knows.

This election accelerated our spiral toward collapse. Higher spending and more Federal Reserve money-creation will not alter the destination. We are now on the superhighway to ruin. The destination is known; only the estimated time of arrival is not.” [end of article]

This is why I am sad. This is why I have heart sink. This is why this election was the most important of our lives, and perhaps the most important in history of the United States. Unfortunately, the idiotic, amoral, selfish, entitlement junkies who voted for Obama have destroyed this once great nation. And in so doing, ironically, have destroyed themselves.

I know this has been a dismal/depressing blog post but that’s how I feel today. Let me leave you with some uplifting words from prophecy.

“Will the Constitution be destroyed? No; It will be held inviolate by this people; and, as Joseph Smith said, ‘the time will come when the destiny of the nation will hang upon a single thread; at that critical juncture, this people will step forth and save it from the threatened destruction.’ It will be so” (Journal History, July 4, 1854, Archives of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints).- Brigham Young

Now another witness, John Taylor, third president of the Church: “When the people shall have torn to shreds the Constitution of the United States, the elders of Israel will be found holding it up to the nations of the earth, and proclaiming liberty and equal rights to all men, and extending the hand of fellowship to the oppressed of all nations.” (The Gospel Kingdom, Deseret Book Co., 1943, p. 219.)

A final witness is from George Q. Cannon, former member of the First Presidency, who said that “the day will come when the Constitution and free government under it will be sustained and preserved by this people.” (JD, 23:104.)

Ezra Taft Benson said, “I love America. I love the people in this beloved land as well as our Father’s children in all other countries. The Lord decreed that America is “a land choice above all other lands” to those who keep his commandments. We remain here in this land as long as we remain in God’s divine favor.”

Speaking of the 10 Commandments, Pres. Benson continues,“These are the foundation principles upon which all civilized government and our present civilization is built. To disregard them will lead to inevitable personal character loss and ruin. To disregard them as a nation will inevitably lead that nation to destruction.” – Ezra Taft Benson, July 1978, New Era, America at the Crossroads

Pres. Ezra Taft Benson said in October 1987 Gen. conference, “Unfortunately, we as a nation have apostatized in various degrees from different Constitutional principles as proclaimed by the inspired founders. We are fast approaching that moment prophesied by Joseph Smith when he said: “Even this nation will be on the very verge of crumbling to pieces and tumbling to the ground, and when the Constitution is upon the brink of ruin, this people will be the staff upon which the nation shall lean, and they shall bear the Constitution away from the very verge of destruction” (19 July 1840, as recorded by Martha Jane Knowlton Coray; ms. in Church Historian’s Office, Salt Lake City).

“I believe in America. I am grateful for the Constitution under which this nation lives and moves and has its being. I am profoundly grateful that somehow for more than two centuries of time we have existed as a nation and grown to become the strongest and most free in the entire world. I am grateful for those men whom the God in Heaven raised up and inspired and who pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor to establish this nation and its government. I believe in America — one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. We are, of course, not without fault. We have more than our share of crime and of every other evil to be found on the earth. I fear that we have become an arrogant people, but when all is said and done, there is no other nation quite like this one.” Gordon B. Hinckley ( Source: Bonneville International Corporation Management Seminar, February 10, 1991; quoted in Teachings of Gordon B. Hinckley p. 13 )

So, amid all of the doom and gloom we are facing after the reelection of Pres. Satan (Obama) and the passage of laws against morality, there is still hope. Righteousness will still prevail. Righteousness will save this country from complete destruction. This is still the promised land. We must continue to strive to live righteously and be examples to those around us. In doing so, the Lord will preserve this nation.

 That’s my two cents.

  1. I hear you. This election is all that has been on my mind. I think the whole nation is still in shock that there are so many "idiotic" Americans. It really is amazing that the most incompetent president in the history of our nation was just re-elected.
God Bless America and those who are doing all they can to save our traditional values and all that built this great nation.
